Employees support military families through We Serve Too program

We Serve Too is an educational program designed to keep the bodies and minds of children strong in the summer months when school is out and a parent may be away from home serving America's military. This summer, employees from the North American headquarters in De Soto, KS and our Hopkinsville, KY facility helped support this valuable program and had some fun in the process.

The kids learn about the importance of sleep, eating healthy foods and daily exercise in addition to staying sharp with skills learned at school throughout the summer months.

Parents and children learned more about "Summer Slide" or summer learning loss and how practicing academic skills will keep their minds strong, allowing the kids to retain the progress they made in the previous school year.

When the event ends, each participant receives a backpack containing a grade-appropriate workbook, a writing journal and a calculator. These materials reinforce critical reading, math and writing skills.

The organization annually reaches more than 5,000 military dependents at military bases across the United States.

North America's Hopkinsville facility supported the program at Fort Campbell, located only minutes from the factory, while De Soto employees attended an event at Fort Leavenworth.
