In your town

We recognize that our communities strengthen when we work as a team to build commonalities and support the causes that are essential for community health and vitality. One of our core values is to treat our world with respect. That means caring about each other, the environment and the communities where we do business.

We take great pride in the communities where we work. That's the focus of our community outreach. This page highlights our activities and the difference they make.

Employees shine at holiday charity events

Throughout the year, Huhtamaki and its employees support the communities where we work at numerous charitable events and through generous donations. Therefore, it’s no surprise that during the holidays is when the best of our charitable efforts really come out.

Hopkinsville pulls off Christmas Morning Miracle
Employees at our Hopkinsville facility joined the Hopkinsville Police Department to provide toys and gifts for children in the community who might otherwise go without during the holidays as part of the Christmas Morning Miracle program.

Hopkinsville employees started supporting the program in 2015 with donations of toys collected during the holiday season and a cash donation that grew throughout the year.

Several fund raisers supported that donation, including a hotdog picnic, employee donations and other events, which helped to gather $5,200 for the cause.

When it came time for the toy drive, Huhtamaki employees stepped up again and the facility itself served a drop-off location for the rest of the Hopkinsville community.

The program serves approximately 150 kids annually.

Paris, TX facility steps up for CASA’s toy drive
Paris, TX employees once again supported the CASA for Kids Toy Drive by adopting 25 families in the community and fulfilling all their wishes (and then some). They even collected extra toys and clothes that were then donated to other children.

The toy drive gained momentum throughout the season with donations from employees and even former employees and individuals from the community with no connection to the company. This marks the third year Huhtamaki – Paris supported this worthy cause.

Mostly run by volunteers, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) provides basic necessity items such as diapers and clothes for children in difficult situations. Volunteers also pay visits to children both at home and in foster care and serve as advocates for children in the court system.

Franklin, OH caters to their community’s senior citizens

Employees from our Franklin facility brought the holiday cheer to a senior living facility with a catered lunch, gifts and a special visit from Santa himself over the holidays.

Franklin also helped a local high school, earlier in the fall, by creating a shop with inexpensive school supplies and many other items for students. Employees set up the shop by cleaning, painting and building the shelves for the student shop.

Coleman collects clothes and much more

Coleman employees joined together to deliver clothes, household items and toys to a local family facing a very tough situation.  A wish list was established, with the help of a local school, and all their needs were met with a collection of money and direct donations.

De Soto employees provide Thanksgiving meals and support local charities all year

De Soto employees supported a local Thanksgiving food drive with more than 50 meals to make sure that each family could celebrate the season. Employees also donated their time to an event at KidsTLC in Olathe, KS. Each year employees serve a traditional holiday meal with all the trimmings and distribute gifts the children.

Kids TLC cares for children in the area through successful psychiatric treatment, community outreach, behavioral health, as well as autism and wellness program. Services focus on family wellness and preserving the family unit.

Throughout the year, the De Soto facility supports great charities such as the American Heart Association, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the City Union Mission, We Serve Too, local schools and countless other charities in need of material donations.
