Hopkinsville supports "We Serve Too"

We Serve Too programHuhtamaki North America's Hopkinsville, KY location reached out to support military families this summer with the We Serve Too program.
We Serve Too is an educational program designed to keep the bodies and minds of children strong in the summer months when school is out and a parent may be away from home serving America's military.
And it's a lot of fun.
The kids learn about the importance of rest, eating healthy foods and daily exercise in addition to staying sharp with what they learn in school.
Parents and children learned more about "Summer Slide" or summer learning loss and how practicing academic skills will keep their minds strong, allowing the kids to retain the progress they made in the previous school year.
When the event ends, each participant receives a backpack containing a grade-appropriate workbook, a writing journal and a calculator. These materials reinforce critical reading, math and writing skills.
The organization annually reaches more than 5,000 military dependents at military bases across the United States. Huhtamaki North America's Hopkinsville facility supported the program at Fort Campbell, located only minutes from the factory.
